Scrap That! PageMaps Challenge: Dear Santa

"Max and Whiskers" meets Christmas! :) Here is my 31/2 year old son and my 6 year old beagle on Christmas Eve - 2009. They both look like they have been up to something...something naughty for sure. I had so much fun mixing up "non-Christmas" papers and chipboard pieces for this Christmas layout.

I created this layout for a PageMaps "Scrap That!" challenge. Here is the sketch provided by Becky Fleck. There's still time to play!

First Solo Ride

This is my son (age 4) on his first "solo" roller coaster ride. My husband had to get off of the ride last minute, and I was very concerned about how Sam would do alone...but look at how incredible happy he is! He definitely did not get the "theme park gene" from me.
I used Pencillines Sketch #231 as my inspiration for this layout.

Supplies Used:
Patterned Papers (Sassafras Lass, October Afternoon, Echo Park, Basic Grey, Bo Bunny Press), Tim Holtz "live" tag, Cosmo Cricket stickers, Jenni Bowlin butterflies, American Crafts letters, Spare Parts metal

Pick of the Patch

When the leaves start to change colors and the weather cools off, I often get inspired to scrap spring and summer photos. Now that we have this gorgeous spring weather, all that I can think about are my fall photos and papers. Go figure!
These are pictures of my boys at the pumpkin patch.

"One Fall Day" is the title from my sheet of paper...nothing goes to waste in this house! The blue ticket was given to me at the grocery store for a drawing. I didn't win, but it looks cute on my layout. :)

I'm thinking that the title should be "Picks" instead of "Pick" since I have two boys. However, one pick just looked better to me, and it's all about how things look.

Supplies Used: Paper Studio cardstock, Patterned Papers (Basic Grey, Bo Bunny Press, Echo Park, Bella Blvd, Reminisce, My Little Shoebox), Tim Holtz "Bliss" tag, Office Depot ticket, Sassafras Lass cardstock alpha, Cosmo Cricket alpha stickers)

Thanks for looking, and Happy SPRING!

God Bless America

I am just getting around to scrapping July 4. My boys love taking part in our annual 4th of July neighborhood parade. Sam is already asking about the next one. And it wouldn't be a parade without having Woody take part, albeit hung by the neck! I didn't notice that until looking at pictures. :)

Supplies Used: Patterned Papers (Jillibean Soup, Pink Paislee), American Crafts foil cardstock letters, Cosmo Cricket alpha stickers, EK Success alpha, Jillibean Soup journaling sprout

28 Cents

Sometimes when I am in a scrapbooking rut, I look through my gallery and pick out a personal favorite for inspiration. I lifted one of my favorite designs that I have used a handful of times in the past:

And this is what I came up with:
This was our Christmas postcard that we sent out to family and friends this year. This Curio line of Basic Grey papers puts a smile on my face - I just love the colors and designs.
Just in case you are wondering, the price of a postcard stamp is 28 Cents - my inspiration for the title!

Supplies Used: Patterned Papers (Basic Grey, October Afternoon), Prima Marketing crystals and leaves, Recollections (Michael's line) flowers

Pint Sized Picassos

I used Pencillines sketch #225 for this layout....always inspired by their sketches.
I just love the patters and happy bright colors of all of the different papers on this layout.
A little bit about the pictures...I was looking at pictures on Facebook and came across pictures of a Facebook friends' kids painting with water outside - brilliant! I snagged the idea, and it became a favorite summertime activity for my squirmy boys. They are already asking when we will get to do it again.

Supplies Used: Patterned Papers (Echo Press, Doodlebug Designs, Sassafras Lass, October Afternoon, Basic Grey, My Little Shoebox, Fancy Pants), Jenni Bowlin butterflies, American Crafts foam letters, Making Memories tiny alpha stickers

Amazed By You

This is slightly out of my box, as I have never done a layout of just my husband. I have a wonderful husband and thought that he was deserving of a solo layout in my family scrapbook. :) I've had these sheets of papers from the Basic Grey Origins line for so long. I love the way that they look with this black and white photo.

I just can't get away from flowers - even on a "manly" layout!

Supplies Used: Basic Grey patterned papers, Prima Marketing flowers and leaves, Spare Parts metal, Cosmo Cricket chipboard letters, Making Memories tiny alphabet

I actually lifted the design and title from this layout that I created over two years ago!
