Nathan will be here next week! We had intended on just making small changes to the nursery here and there, but then one thing led to another, and I have a revamped room for my little guy. I stuck with the same color palette as my previous nursery, kept the painted ceiling, furniture, and window treatments.
I wish I could take credit for this painted tree, but we left the wall art to a professional! Maybe one day... |
I could not find a mobile that coordinated with my bedding. Then I found this blog tutorial for making felt owls and decided to just make my own mobile. I made some changes to the pattern to fit my needs and used the base of my old mobile. I sewed a new canopy and cover for the arm, and I used fabric scraps from the baby bedding for the little owls. Here's to hoping that Nathan likes the little critters!
I saw a similar frame at a baby boutique for $65...I made this for under $15 with an inexpensive frame, two shades of acrylic paint, crackle paint, ribbon, and a piece for the center of the bow. |
That's Kase pretending that he actually likes to paint (his least favorite project!). |
All of my nesting projects are officially DONE! I have one week to rest up. I can't wait to meet my precious boy and fill all of my frames with pictures of his sweet face!
Thanks for stopping by!

Katie, what a beautiful, refreshing room. You are extremely talented & creative. Nathan will sleep peacefully in this tranquil room you & Kase have prepared for him. Lovely!
Katie,
I didn't know you had a blog.
I am freaking out! That mobile is amazing and the room is incredible! This looks like it came out of a magazine! I am in awe of crafty people. I can't even sew on a button right!
Beautiful, incredible, amazing room! Wow!

My precious Katie,
You are not only beautiful, but God has blessed you with tremendous talents. You have a sweet and caring spirit and Kase and the boys are doubly blessed to have you in their lives, and vice versa. Nathan's room is awesome and should be in House Beautiful Magazine.
You are so loved!
Nana and Giddo.
