We had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. However, on January 13, my precious "Giddo" unexpectedly went to heaven. He was the most gracious and kind man. He was a family man, and he savored every second with us. He has 10 GREAT grandchildren - 8 of them being ALL BOY - and when we get together as a family, things get ROWDY! I would frantically get after my boys and remind them to be gentle around their Giddo. However, Giddo would just sit in my cheetah chair with the biggest smile, just enjoying the little lives in front of him. His walking stick would become a "dancing stick," and at times, a light saber. No doubt, his presence will be greatly missed.
Some called him "Colonel," others called him "sir," but we just called him Giddo.

The holidays will never be the same, as he absolutely loved the holidays. After all, it was just one more reason to get together with those that he loved the most. He left a wonderful legacy, and anyone who knew him, loved him. My Giddo never met a stranger! We are immensely blessed to have had him for almost 90 years, but it is just never long enough when it comes to those that you love so dearly.
"He
will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death
or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” Revelations 21:4
