Laundry Room Makeover

As my husband would say, this is what happens when Pinterest affects your real life. I have been nesting like crazy. I saw an idea on Pinterest about hanging a small shelf above your washing machine. Perfect! That is ALL I wanted...or so I thought. Thankfully, I am married to a handy guy who also likes to gets his hands dirty with fun projects around the house. Somehow, a simple shelf transpired into a total revamp of my little laundry room.

BEFORE: I promise. It wasn't always this bad. Girl Scout's honor!

(I was never a Girl Scout.)

My husband hard at work:
New cabinets and shelf above the washing machine - yay! The wicker basket is for all the mail that used to just pile up on top of my dryer. Now it can just pile up inside the basket until I am ready for it.

This lamp used to be in my nursery. I loved it and didn't want to part with it. I purchased one of those self-adhesive lampshades at Hobby Lobby and some fun fabric and trim. For less than $10, I got a "new" lamp!
A little matching memo board...
Thanks for taking a peek!

Hi, found your blog through Pink Buckaroo Designs and LOVE your laundry room update! We did something similar recently but I wish I'd seen yours first for inspiration. The low shelf turned out great and I like how the fabric memo board and lamp make so much less "sterile." Take care!
